MyIntellects enables web 2.0 functionalities for new tollways website

MyIntellects completes the new tollways.net.ph website created for the Tollways Management Corporation.
The new website sports web2.0 functionalities to allow more interaction with NLEX users and is designed to be viewed with both pc and Mobile platforms.

Featured on the new website is the beta release of “Nligtas”, the first real time advisory system in the Philippines developed by TMC that allows users  to estimate how long their trips will take and to avoid traffic jams in tollways at the NLEX, which connects Metro Manila to Central Luzon provinces and spans from the Cloverleaf Interchange in Quezon City to Mabalacat town in Pampanga.

MNTC and TMC officials together with TRB Executive Director Edmundo O. Reyes, Jr. announced NLEX and SCTEX programs to ensure motorists would have safe, convenient and hassle-free travel during the All Saint’s Day break.

MNTC and TMC officials together with TRB Executive Director Edmundo O. Reyes, Jr. announced NLEX and SCTEX programs to ensure motorists would have safe, convenient and hassle-free travel during the All Saint’s Day break. At the presscon of “NLEX-SCTEX Undas 2012”, it was announced that preparations include intensified traffic management in both expressways, NLEX real-time advisory system called NLigtas, and the Lakbay Norte Pass.

Travelers who will take the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in going home to their provinces this All Saints’ Day should tap the Internet to ensure a smoother trip, the tollway’s management said Monday.

At a press briefing, Toll Regulatory Board executive director Edmundo Reyes encouraged travelers to use the NLigtas.

“Our goal is to really make this Undas safer than the last one,” Reyes said. “That is why we are providing travelers with more graphic updates which they can access even before they start their trips.”

Reyes said he expects traffic to build up by 10 to 15 percent at the Balintawak, Mindanao Avenue and Dau toll plazas in the afternoon of October 31 to the early morning of November 1.

Marlene Ochoa, Manila North Tollways vice president for corporate communications, meanwhile, said travelers can also expect real-time updates from the official NLEX Twitter account (@TheOfficialNLEX).

Ochoa also said ambulant tellers, traffic patrol groups and emergency crews will be deployed at the NLEX from October 31 to November 1 to assist travelers during their trips.
